SALES SCREEN
This screen shot shows the normal sales screen, visible to both the operator and the customer. This shows a sale that has just been completed. The screen will clear after a short delay, or when a new sale is commenced. High clarity results in few customers requesting a printed receipt, although one is available by pressing the function key, F10, either during the sale or after it has been completed. To make a sale, just scan a bar code. The description of the item will appear on the first line - in this case, Heinz Tomato Soup. Pressing the 'Enter' key will increase the sale from one to two cans. Scanning a second item - OXO Gravy Granules, here - will add a second line. A running total appears on the right - £2-50, here. If the customer then hands over £10, just type 1000 on the numeric keypad, and press 'Enter'. The change to be given appears, the bill is stamped 'Paid' as shown, and the cash drawer opens. Note how there are no additional keys to press to get a subtotal, or enter a tender. No special 'modes' that lock out further item sales. Nothing could be simpler. Furthermore, the sales screen is never more than a single press of the 'Escape' key away. If you have used other EPOS systems, you will appreciate this benefit.
