There is not a universal standard for price encoded barcodes but it is hoped that what has been implemented will be suitable for most applications. When creating a new product with the 'New Product' screen, if the barcode might be a price encoded barcode, there is an drop down box labeled 'Encoded' that can select one of three options:
Choose the correct setting and in the case of 'Weight encoded' , enter the price per kg in the price box. For 'Price encoded', the price will be set to 0.
When the product is subsequently scanned, the correct price will be shown.
