Some effort has been made to internationalise ProffittCenter. The choice of a £ for the currency in Britain is handled in most situations by Windows settings, but the use of a letter p for pence is not. ProffittCenter tests to see which symbol is used for the currency, and then sets the character used for pence appropriately. The choice is at present p for £ and c otherwise. This could be extended if it does not fit in with your country's usage. Please let us know your requirements. Unfortunately, ProffittCenter will not work for low value currencies as the maximum cash tender is £1500 ($1500 etc.). Another area for problems is with the cashing up screen. This expects certain denominations of coins. If this presents a major problem, please let us know, although, the present format should suit all major currencies. We do want the whole world to benefit from free EPOS software. Finally, there is the use of English in help files and on messages. This is unlikely to change without international help. If you install the program and find that it does not show the correct currency, this is probably because the Windows settings are incorrect. In XP, go to Start|Control Panel and open Regional & Language Options. On the Regional Options tab, choose the country of your choice. The currency format should show €123456789.00, say, for France. If it is shown in another format, click on Customize, and select one of the options to suit. Note the use of a full stop (period) as a decimal separator, and no grouping of digits. The currency settings should show the currency symbol preceding the numbers, with two digits after the decimal point. We hope that this does not put you off from trying out the program.
