The Cash up screen is activated by 'Reports |Cash up' or after pressing the calculate button in the 'Takings screen'. The Cash up screen can also be viewed but not modified from the menu selection 'Database |Cash up'. When activated in this way a VCR style control will allow the Cash up screen from earlier day's takings to be examined.
Once activated, just type in the numbers of notes, bags of coin, and coins rather than their value. This simplifies the process of cashing up. The float left for next day consists of the loose change from the day before plus four five-pound notes. In the event of there not being four five-pound notes, ten-pound notes will be specified in their place. Check the "Float" column to see the recommended numbers of notes to leave with the loose change. The value of Agency takings, Takings and Charged will have been filled in if the screen was generated from the 'Takings screen', but if not, they should be filled in, in pence. Received on account monies are shown separately in a table on the right. This will include payments by cheque or debit; any such items are however identified so that cheques and debits can be reconciled. When all the coin and note counts have been entered, the debits, cheques, coupons, paid outs and received on account monies checked with any paperwork, clicking the Print button would print the details and close the screen. The figure labelled Cash is the total amount of cash in the till, including the starting float; the figure labelled Total is this figure plus any cheques, debits or coupons. The figure Charged differs from the same figure in the Takings calculation as it includes VAT; we wish to allow for all of the money not taken in payment, whereas for tax purposes, the VAT is due when the goods are sold. This action will also record the details in the database. A box will appear indicating that the database is to be saved. Click the button in the box - the cursor will change to an hourglass while the database is being copied to the backup database. On completion, the program will close down. [Previous] [Main] [Next] |
