Any single letter key in the range a to z, (or, alternatively, letters in the range 'A' to 'Z',) are used to ease entry for common products. Products sold by weight or count, such as greengrocery or penny sweets, can be assigned to a hot key with a price of one penny. The letter a key is allocated for zero rate VAT sales and the letter b key to standard rate VAT sales. The letter u key is allocated to Agency sales such as PayPoint and the letter l key to late videos. The letter a or A is converted into a code of 100001 and the letter z or 'Z' to 100026, with appropriate values for intermediate letters. Hot keys are created, just as other products, by using these numbers as Bar codes. [Previous] [Main] [Next] |
