BOGOFF or buy one, and get one free offers is the third option for, which works in the same way as pack offers, except that for each complete pack, only one is sold at a reduced price. For a BOGOFF offer, the pack size would be two and the offer price would be zero pence. There are other offers that could be handled by this option, such as pet food is being marked 2 for 95p (Chum) and 3 for £1.35 (Felix). These cannot be handled correctly by a pack offer as the offer price would be fractional, but with the BOGOFF setting, they could. Say the normal price for Chum is 61p. Then set the quantity to 2 and the offer price to 44p (95p-61p).
To set up a BOGOFF offer, choose the menu selection Offers|Create and then choose BOGOFF in the drop down box.


The required first product is scanned, or the alpha lookup function used. Pressing enter moves the focus to the quantity for the offer. The normal price will be filled in, and can be reduced to the offer amount before pressing enter. Next, the end date is selected by means of a drop down calendar. An end date is always required and will be the same for each product. If more than one product is required for the offer, click the additional product button, and fill in details for subsequent products. Prices can be different, but not quantities. The offer will be automatically deleted on the day after the end date, at program start up. A warning message is displayed, so that any advertising can be removed. There is an option to skip this deletion if for any reason it is desired to continue an offer for a further day.
