Chip & Pin

One of the benefits of EPOS (Electronics at the Point Of Sale) is the ability to smoothly integrate chip & pin transactions with the same ease as taking cash.

ProffittCenter has been integrated and approved for use with YesPay and the Emboss bureaux.

To use this facility, you will need your own pin pad or card processing machine. This has to be the one specified as it has specific firmware installed. The cost is approximately £120 each. To connect this to your computer, you will need a spare serial port. Contact ProffittCenter for details

.The supplied Dione terminal

You will need an Internet connection, preferably ADSL or broadband. A normal domestic contract is adequate.

You will need to sign up for the EMBOSS bureaux services. The fee for this is a set-up fee of £40 plus a monthly fee of £19-50.

You will need a merchant account from a bank. The prices quoted for this service are negotiable and will be on a per transaction basis - anything from 10p to 40p. You are not tied to your own bank for this, so shop around.

Currently, there are no facilities for mobile phone top-up, allthough this is expected in the future.

Transactions are normally completed within two seconds.

Currently this service can be offered in the UK and Eire. Denmark in the near future.
